To explain the difference between these two fabrics, we can use an analogy: filament polyester is like a long, smooth "fishing line," while spun polyester is made by cutting these "fishing lines," loosening them, and then twisting them back together into a thread like "cotton rope."
Although both are made of polyester, their different manufacturing methods result in very different feel and uses.

• Spun Polyester:
Feel: Soft and thick like cotton fabric, with a thin, fluffy surface that feels warm.
Appearance: The color is relatively soft, without the reflective "plastic feel." If you don't look at the label, you might actually think it's made of pure cotton.
• Filament Polyester:
Feel: Very smooth and cool, even a bit like silk or nylon, with a relatively stiff feel.
Appearance: The surface is shiny and has a strong luster; you can tell it's a synthetic fiber at a glance.
• Spun Polyester: Because it is made of countless short fibers twisted together, there are many tiny gaps between the yarns. These small holes allow air to pass through, so it is more breathable than ordinary polyester, less likely to feel stuffy in summer, and won't stick to your body like plastic wrap when you sweat.
• Filament Polyester: Its fibers are continuous from beginning to end, with a very tight structure and almost no gaps. Although it is not breathable, its strength lies in windproof and waterproof properties, so many jackets and umbrellas use this material.
• Spun Polyester: This fabric is very durable and quite strong. However, because it has a fuzzy surface, if it is frequently rubbed (for example, where backpack straps rub), it may develop some small pilling over time.
• Filament Polyester: It's the "tough guy" of the polyester world, with very high tensile strength; it's almost impossible to break by pulling. And because its surface is as smooth as a mirror, it almost never pills.
• Choose spun polyester when: You want comfort, a soft feel, and a texture similar to natural materials. For example: everyday T-shirts, bed sheets, or soft napkins used in restaurants.
• Choose filament polyester when: You need a smooth, durable, and highly functional material. For example: professional quick-drying sportswear, silky lining fabrics, sturdy backpacks, or outdoor tents.
